Space Strike
On the 25th of May 2004 the very first version of Atorian was released under the name ‘Space Strike’. Its founder, David Barr, put together a complex gaming system designed for Web browsers. Space Strike was in its early test phases when it launched but still managed to gain a following of players, some of which to this date have watched Space Strike evolve into what it has become today, Atorian.
Atorian - Episode I: The Beginning
Atorian was the rebirth of Space Strike. It was the creation of a more visually pleasing and enjoyable game. It brought on Board Paul Gallagher (A long time friend of Davids) who helped bring the games graphics up to a professional standard. Paul designed the official Atorian logo, and along with David, helped master plan the future of Atorian. David and Paul came up with the name ‘Atorian’ together and with the help of players tweaked the games bugs and incorporated new ideas into making the game more enjoyable. The community forum was also introduced, which has been a huge success with players ever since.
Atorian - Episode II: Rise of the coalition forces
Atorian - the rise of the coalition forces - was the birth of multiplayer gaming for Atorian, with the introduction of a chat system and multiplayer battles, it allowed players to organize alliances and attack/defend each other in teams. This made Atorian more competitive and even the biggest of empires were vulnerable to any attack. Sector graphics, the powerful role of senator, planet and battle tactical ranking and ship design management was also introduced.
